Youth unemployment has been inordinately high for many years in South Africa and is one of the country’s major socio-economic challenges. Cross-municipal comparisons regularly affirm that rural municipalities’ unemployment rates are among the highest in the country. Rural youth unemployment in particular is high, even in comparison with Metro municipalities’ very high average unemployment rate.

Taking the youth unemployment rate into account and having extensively worked in vastly rural areas across the KZN Province, we are privy on the social conditions resulting in lack of economic activity, lack of skills and training. This has propelled our company to establish a dedicated unit to develop skills in various disciplines of the industry and improve the lives of young people and their prospects of work, particularly women in rural areas. Through the training and skills development unit, we are able to improve productivity in the workplace and competitiveness of our organization and promote self-employment.

We offer a turnkey, infrastructure development solutions to municipalities, provincial departments, local authorities and other developers, including all aspects of a project, such as feasibility studies, project packaging, sourcing of project funding, project implementation and project management.

We coordinate the sales administration process in housing projects, from sales enquiry, through lodgement, to transfer, using computer software that monitors the progress of each subsidy application.

We liaise with local community leaders, tribal authorities, municipal officials and community structures, ensuring transparency, understanding and open-communication channels for the duration of a project.

Community participation is a principle that is accepted by all spheres of government in South Africa. Participation of role players is important to ensure that government addresses real needs of communities in the most appropriate way in relation to project development and implementation. It further consolidates the building of an informed, responsible and participatory citizenry with a sense of ownership of government developments and projects, as stipulated in the development legislations that governs public participation.

Consultancy Services: Community Liaison

We build the capacity of steering committees which includes all role players, on their roles and responsibilities in relation to the project underway. We assist in drafting a constitution that will serve as a guide and point of reference, in which all members concerned adhere to.

We empower the committee with public relations skills to effectively communicate to, and on behalf of the communities they represent. We promote constant reporting by the steering committee to communities in which our projects are implemented to ensure an open-communication approach.
